Vantage review: is the Raw ECN account cheap, and which entity will you join?
Vantage's Raw ECN account starts at $50 and tests at about 0.72 pips all-in on EUR/USD, yet the broker operates through several regulated entities. We compared the costs and checked what each licence means for you.
7.7/10
Vantage's Raw ECN account is competitive, not the cheapest: about 0.13 pips of spread plus $6 a round-turn lot works out near 0.72 pips all-in on EUR/USD, and the $50 entry is friendly. The bigger question is the entity. FCA and ASIC clients get strong protection, while clients elsewhere often join lightly regulated offshore units. Choose it if you sit under a Tier 1 licence, and check your entity before you fund.
Best for
Cost-aware forex traders under a UK or Australian licence who want MT4, MT5 or TradingView
Vantage sells itself on cost, and on that count it mostly delivers. The less obvious part is that the Vantage you sign up with depends on where you live, and the difference between entities is larger than the difference between account types.
Leveraged CFD trading can lose you money quickly. This is analysis, not personal advice.
A note on sourcing: Vantage's main .com site blocked our crawler and we were served the UK site, so figures for spreads come from named independent testers.
The cost of Raw ECN, in one line
ForexBrokers.com measured an average EUR/USD spread of 0.127 pips on Raw ECN. Commission is $6 per round-turn lot ($3 a side), which adds about 0.6 pips, giving 0.72 pips all-in. That is close to the leading raw-spread brokers, not below them, and it starts from a $50 deposit.

Vantage UK's about page describes an award-winning CFD and spread betting broker with over 15 years in the market.
The Standard STP account is simpler and dearer. It has no commission and averaged about 1.4 pips on EUR/USD in the same test. Pro ECN, from a $10,000 deposit, cuts commission to $1.50 a side, which trims the round-turn cost to $3.
Which entity will a new client join
This is the question the marketing avoids. ForexBrokers.com lists regulators by entity: ASIC for Australia, the FCA for the UK, the FSCA for South Africa, CIMA for the Cayman Islands, the FSC in Mauritius and VFSC in Vanuatu. The first two are Tier 1. The last three are lightly supervised, and reviewers put them at Tier 4.
In practice, the licence follows your country of residence, and a client in a country without a local licence may land under an offshore entity. We could not confirm which entity any given country is routed to, so read the client agreement before you fund. The entity name and regulator appear there in plain text.
What changes with the entity is protection. A UK client sits under the FCA and its compensation scheme. An offshore client does not get equivalent rules on segregation, complaints or leverage caps.
Choosing between the three accounts
Do the sum on one standard lot of EUR/USD, where a pip is about $10. Raw ECN costs roughly $7.20 to open and close: about $1.27 of average spread plus the $6 commission. Standard STP costs about $14 at 1.4 pips. So the raw account halves the bill, and Raw ECN pays for itself from the first trade if you trade lots rather than micro sizes.
Pro ECN matters only at scale. Saving $3 a lot on 100 lots a month is $300, which is real money against a $10,000 deposit, but it is beside the point for a $500 account. Most readers should start on Raw ECN and revisit the tier later. Islamic swap-free accounts also exist, according to ForexBrokers.com, and there are Professional and VIP tiers for those who qualify.
Platforms and trade tools
Vantage runs MetaTrader 4 and 5, TradingView, its own web platform and a mobile app with integrated copy trading. The MT5 page pitches fast execution and access to professional signals, with tools that will be familiar if you use the terminal elsewhere.

Copy trading deserves caution. Reviewers found that provider statistics hide underperformers, so the leaderboard flatters the strategies you see. Treat it as a discovery tool, not a signal.
What you can and cannot trade
The lineup is 1,028 symbols, and all are CFDs. That covers forex, indices, commodities and share CFDs, but there are no real shares to own. Forex has its own primer, and the academy page below explains how forex CFDs work.

Other limits: international wire withdrawals are free, but crypto withdrawals are not supported, and education is at beginner level. Fixed spreads are not offered.
Who should choose it
Yes: a UK or Australian trader who wants raw pricing at $50 and MT4, MT5 or TradingView on one account. The Tier 1 licence is a real plus.
Yes, with a check: a trader elsewhere, provided they know which entity holds their money.
No: a beginner who might confuse the copy leaderboard with a track record, and anyone who wants real shares or crypto.
We rate Vantage a good-value broker with a real caveat. The pricing is fair, and the entity question is what separates a safe choice from a gamble.
